Q.What is physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a primary care, autonomous, client-focused health profession dedicated to improving quality of life (2012, CPA). Physiotherapists work with a variety of conditions including injury or dysfunction to the musculoskeletal system (muscles, joints, bones, nervous system) aimed at enhancing or restoring the function of these and multiple body systems.

Q.What are Chiropractic services??

Chiropractic is a non-invasive, hands-on health care discipline that focuses on the neuromusculoskeletal system.

Chiropractors practice a manual approach, providing diagnosis, treatment and preventative care for disorders related to the spine, pelvis, nervous system and joints.

Chiropractors use a combination of treatments, all of which are predicated on the specific needs of the individual patient. After taking a complete history and diagnosing a patient, a chiropractor can develop and carry out a comprehensive treatment/management plan, recommend therapeutic exercise and other non-invasive therapies, and provide nutritional, dietary and lifestyle counselling.

Q.What is Acupuncture for??

Certified practitioners (e.g., physiotherapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists) can incorporate acupuncture into their treatments to decrease pain and inflammation which can supplement treatment and restore function.

Q.Is a medical referral (Doctor’s note) required prior to treatment??

Referrals from medical doctors are not mandatory prior to Physiotherapy, Chiropractic or Massage therapy unless as stated by the Extended Health Benefits. Certain insurance companies require a physician’s referral in order for treatment costs to be reimbursed. However, if you are unsure about any of our services come and discuss it with one of our practitioners or your doctor first before beginning therapy – we are here for you!

Q.How do you book an appointment??

Appointments can be made by calling us directly. Our front desk staff will gladly provide you with a day and time at your convenience.

Q.Duration of a treatment sessions??

Your initial assessments will take 45 minutes to an hour, as it includes a thorough analysed subjective and objective assessment followed by a treatment regime. Follow-up treatment sessions last 30-45 minutes however each individual’s treatments can vary – no one condition is exactly the same! The number of required session will be discussed with you at the end of your assessment however this may vary.

Q.Will your Family/referring physician be updated about your treatments??

With your permission, an initial report will be sent to your doctor. During the course of your treatment, your therapist will communicate with your doctor to make sure progress is made and outcomes are met.
